EP Rinkside's 3 Stars from Day 3 of the 2024 U18 World Hockey Championship

The third day of the 2024 U18 World Hockey Championship only had two games on tap, with Sweden starting things off with a decisive 7-1 win over Kazakhstan. Though the underdogs ended up opening the scoring early with a power play goal, Sweden's relentless pressure eventually allowed them to break through, as they ultimately sailed to a smooth victory, outshooting the opposition 59-14.

The second game of the day progressed in similar fashion, with the tournament favourites in USA dominating Norway on the ice and on the scoresheet, securing a 8-2 victory. While the shot share was closer than one might have imagined, the Americans opted for quality over quantity and finished over 20 percent of their chances.
