The Dream Season – Elias Pettersson is assaulting the record books
Elias Pettersson has been dropping jaws everywhere.
Except Vancouver.
The rookie, comfortably at the head of his class, has everyone in his adopted city quite used to his once eyebrow-raising, out-of-your-seat shenanigans after just 35 twirls in National Hockey League rinks.
A big Pettersson play has almost become routine at this point.
“It might surprise you guys still, but it’s not really surprising me so much anymore,” started teammate turned linemate Brock Boeser. “I mean, with how elite his hockey IQ is, that’s what allows him to make all these plays and how he sees the ice so well.
“He’s so good with the puck and when he carries it up the ice he can shimmy-shake guys to get around them. He definitely makes plays and sets up guys on the ice.”
