Post-Draft Prospect Profiles: Nils Höglander No. 40 to the Vancouver Canucks
Rögle BK winger and Vancouver Canucks draft pick Nils Höglander has been on the radar as a top prospect for the 2019 NHL Entry Draft for quite some time. Now he’s had the chance to cross the stage as a second-round pick in Vancouver for the host-Canucks.
It was a highly impressive performance for AIK in the Allsvenskan as a 16-year-old in the 2016-17 season that helped earn Höglander his spot on hockey’s radar. A strong encore performance the next season, in which Höglander produced seven points in 34 games helped elevate him to Rögle in the SHL for his draft-year.
The transition to Sweden’s top men’s league wasn’t quite as seamless for Höglander, who struggled to start the year, much like the rest of his Rögle teammates. With time, though, Höglander became better accustomed to life in the
