EP Rinkside Prospect Pool Rankings: No. 14 Ranked Chicago Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks have a love-hate relationship with the NHL draft, alternating between selecting players like Kyle Beach in the first round and picking up gems like Alex DeBrincat in the second. Of late, however, the Blackhawks have built up an impressive prospect pool—a good thing, since they’ll need to retool around captain Jonathan Toews and the rest of the core if they want a shot at another championship in their current era.

1. Adam Boqvist, D, London Knights

With Henri Jokiharju now in Buffalo, the top Blackhawks prospect spot falls to London Knights defenseman Adam Boqvist. As far as shifts at the top go, it makes for a pretty good start.

He ticks every box when it comes to the style of defensemen teams salivate over these days, from the skating to the elite vision to the puck
