EP Rinkside Prospect Pool Rankings: No. 7 Ranked New York Islanders

The New York Islanders have been building an impressive group of prospects. Drafting is a part of the equation and player development is the other. Both of these areas have been improving on the Island and as a result, they have a plethora of young talent that’s getting closer to helping the big club. It’s one thing when the stars contribute, it’s another when mid-late round picks and free agents start to as well.

The Islanders have been showing great patience with their top prospects and that means most won’t play or start the season in the NHL this year, which isn’t a bad thing. Letting players get bigger and stronger never hurts them. With their coaching staff, they are now able to bring players into a stable system especially when graduating from Bridgeport to the NHL.
