The EliteProspects Rinkside 2020 NHL Entry Draft WHL Watch List

After producing the Canadian Hockey League’s first four picks in the 2019 NHL Draft, this year’s WHL crop looks pale in comparison. At this moment, there’s a real chance that not a single WHLer is taken in the top-15, if not the top-20.

While the WHL lacks top-end talent, there were no fewer than 23 players I considered for the ten slots in this watch list. This watch list is by no means a ranking, so don’t think of this as the “top-ten WHL draft eligibles,” but rather, ten of the most intriguing players the WHL offers this year. There were so many interesting prospects that just missed that cut, whether that’s the early-season standouts in Daemon Hunt, Kasper Puutio, or Simon Knak, or the players with standout skills needing to put it all together, such as Ridly Greig, Josh Pillar, Jack F
