Karlsson: Arvid Holm is Making a Stellar Career of Proving Everyone Wrong
With two promising seasons at Björklöven under Adam Werner‘s belt, Färjestad made the call and promoted him to the SHL in time for the 2018-19 season. Werner, at one point a premier goaltender in the Allsvenskan, immediately proved himself as a credible SHL option, too; he started 26 games, posting a stellar .926 save percentage on the year.
At that point, everyone knew what was coming next. One performs well in the SHL and the NHL isn’t far behind, waiting to take Sweden’s best players “over there”, as the locals say.
Now, 22-years-old, Werner is a starting goaltender for the Colorado Avalanche’s AHL farm team, the Colorado Eagles. He’s already made his NHL debut, shutting out the Winnipeg Jets in November.
