Trade Analysis: New Jersey Devils Blake Coleman Haul Centred on Power Forward Nolan Foote
The NHL Trade Deadline may yet be a week away, but teams are clearly attempting to get in front of it. The Tampa Bay Lightning were one of those organizations as they went out and procured the services of Blake Coleman from the New Jersey Devils.
The cost was not unsubstantial.
2019 first-round selection, Nolan Foote as well as Vancouver’s 2020 first-round selection — previously acquired in the J.T. Miller deal, went the other way to the Devils. We could sit here and argue whether New Jersey produced a better return for Coleman than they did for Taylor Hall, but we’ll leave that for another platform.
Today we’ll look at what exactly the Devils are receiving in Foote.
