Undrafted Free Agent Profile: Dallas Stars Add Big, Tough Defenceman Jerad Rosburg
The Dallas Stars recently added to their threadbare collection of defensive prospects, signing Jerad Rosburg, a senior defenceman at Michigan State, to a one-year entry-level contract.
While his numbers don’t jump off the page, Rosburg put together a respectable stat line for a defenceman whose physicality and shut-down ability were more apparent than any type of offensive dynamism. In 141 games with the Spartans, Rosburg earned 51 points, with a career-high 17 points in 36 games this year.
Rosburg reported to the Texas Stars on an entry-level deal after Michigan State’s season was cut short in the Big 10 Quarterfinals by their conference rivals, the Michigan Wolverines. In his two-game stint with Texas before the league suspended play, Rosburg posted a goal and an assist.
