Undrafted Free Agent Profile: Patrick Khodorenko is Big Apple Bound
If the New York Rangers want someone in free agency, there’s seemingly little the rest of the league can do to stop them. It was true before the salary cap era, and not much has changed since.
Clearly, the New York Rangers wanted former-Michigan State Spartan centre Patrick Khodorenko, who they signed to a three-year entry-level contract during the opening salvo of undrafted free agency — technically, he’s on an amateur tryout with the Hartford Wolf Pack and the entry-level deal starts July 1st.
Khodorenko, 21, had just finished his senior year with the Spartans following back-to-back playoff losses to their rivals at the University of Michigan in the Big 10 Playoffs when he put pen to paper on his first professional contract.
