ROBINSON: Alexander Holtz is the 2020 NHL Draft’s Premier Finisher

The NHL Draft has spoiled us in recent years. Elite finishing talent doesn’t reveal itself in advance of each June draft every year, but the junior ranks have been a conveyer belt of just that going back to 2016.

Patrik Laine, Auston Matthews, Andrei Svechnikov, and Cole Caufield each earned their time in the limelight ahead of their draft.

Now it is Djurgårdens IF forward Alexander Holtz’s turn.

The 18-year-old right-winger has been heralded as an elite finisher dating back to his time producing over a goal-per-game in Sweden’s U16 circuit as a 13/14-year-old. He continued that trend and backed it up by producing one of the most dominant draft-minus one campaigns in recent memory.
