The EliteProspects Rinkside 2020-21 Off-Season Prospect Pool Rankings: the No. 25-ranked Boston Bruins

The Boston Bruins draft record has the best of times, and it features the worst of times, all the while with very little in-between. Their amateur scouting department — it’s a land of contrasts!

One year it’s a near-instant top-of-the-lineup contributor in Charlie McAvoy at 14th-overall, and then the next it’s Jakub Zboril at 13th. Literally. Those two picks came a year apart. McAvoy is their No. 1 defenceman and Zboril is well on his way to a top-four role in the KHL if he plays his cards right.

It’s rounds two-through-seven where the Bruins are at their best. They’re like a truffle pig, darting straight past the first-round’s morel mushrooms and straight for the black truffles carefully nestled under layers of soil and manure.

Where the truffles prove invaluable as a complementary device
