The EliteProspects Rinkside 2020-21 Off-Season Prospect Pool Rankings: the No. 16-ranked Nashville Predators

For more than a decade, there was never any doubt about Nashville’s goaltending. It was Pekka Rinne’s net — full stop. As Rinne’s illustrious career winds down, though, questions concerning his replacement abound.

Juuse Saros has certainly looked the part of a worthy replacement. For insurance and a possible upgrade, the Predators acquired Connor Ingram, who recently landed fourth on EliteProspects’ top-15 goaltending prospects (pre-draft).

If there was any doubt that the Predators were looking for a long-term Rinne replacement, the Yaroslav Askarov pick erased it. Widely hailed as the best goaltending prospect since Carey Price, Askarov looks like the Predators’ future starter.
