The EliteProspects Rinkside 2020-21 Off-Season Prospect Pool Rankings: the No. 5-ranked Minnesota Wild
It took them long enough, but the Minnesota Wild finally decided to embark upon something of a rebuild. With a strong 2020 draft and Marco Rossi's addition at ninth-overall in particular, it finally seems like the descent is over.
They're now accumulating speed, ready to swing back up and launch themselves into another cycle of Stanley Cup contention.
Of course, the process is far from over and the destination is far away, but one can appreciate the organization's progress thus far. They've already leaped from 19th in our 2019 prospect pool rankings all the way to the top-five ahead of next season.
To continue their ascension, the Wild need more depth at every position. At EPRinkside, we have come to appreciate the development of some of the team’s later drafted prospects, but right now the strength of the pool comes mostly from the star-power of the first two names on the list.
