A player-by-player look at how Finland performed at the 2021 World Juniors

Team Finland won five of their seven games, only losing to the two finalists, and securing a bronze medal in the process. This tournament was a smashing success for Finland.

Head coach Antti Pennanen's system worked well in most games, and he made the necessary adjustments along the way to overcome a relative lack of depth.

Opting for more of a defensively-minded bottom-six can be a risky strategy, but it paid off. Their top line was one of the best in the tournament and took care of most of the offensive production, and Kari Piiroinen held it down in the crease.

Overall, there were a handful of players who exceeded the assumptions and a few that disappointed, with the vast majority playing according to the expectations.
