Around the AHL: Jack Dugan digging down
Henderson Silver Knights forward Jack Dugan did not know what happened to the puck from his first pro goal this on Wednesday night.
But the 22-year-old rookie pro does know that he is beginning to get a hang for the pro game after being a Hobey Baker Award finalist last season at Providence College.
A 1-2-3 night for Dugan helped the Silver Knights to knock off the visiting San Diego Gulls, 4-2. Dugan’s game-winner came when he shoveled a right-circle puck to the slot as Jake Leschyshyn crashed San Diego goaltender Lukas Dostal’s net six minutes into the final period. The puck slipped past Dostál, Dugan received credit for the goal, and he now has 1-6-7 through seven games, tying him for third place in AHL scoring.
