There have been a lot of problems with the Toronto Maple Leafs over the past several years, mostly the division they played in. But every time they got eliminated from the postseason, there was a new referendum on what needed fixing.

Not enough skill, too much skill. Too many checkers in the bottom-six, not enough checkers in the top-six. Not enough centre depth, too many good centres to give everyone the necessary ice-time. The list goes on and on.

One thing that rarely came up was that the goaltending the last several years rarely held up in the post-season, and thus mostly escaped notice.
