Shane Wright stands out for Canada at the 2021 IIHF Under-18 World Junior Championship

FRISCO, Texas — Shane Wright is like any other player in the 2021 IIHF Under-18 World Junior Championship in that he wants to win every time he steps out onto the ice. These are the best 17- and 18-year-old players in the world, and they wouldn’t be in Texas if they didn’t want to win.

The 17-year-old Canadian forward is also not unlike other athletes in that he’s competitive off the ice as well. Some people wouldn’t consider a game of cornhole to be as heightened as a world championship hockey tournament, but Wright approaches those backyard games the same as he approaches hockey games.
