The Path ahead for the New York Rangers
The New York Rangers made huge waves on Wednesday afternoon, announcing that they were reshuffling their front office by moving on from both General Manager Jeff Gorton and team president John Davidson, and promoting Chris Drury to fill both roles in their stead.
While a team that's about to miss the playoffs for a fourth consecutive season (not counting last year, where their qualifying round appearance technically counted, but they ultimately got summarily swept by the Hurricanes) making such changes wouldn't necessarily classify as stunning news normally, this situation obviously isn't a normal one for a number of reasons.
