What we Learned: Jeff Carter trade working out just fine for Pittsburgh Penguins
When the Penguins traded for Jeff Carter, and frankly gave up too much for him based on the track record, it was somewhat surprising that a lot of people were linking him to the Taylor Halls of the world in terms of "seismic trades made in the Eastern Conference."
But so far, hoo baby. He had his four-goal game the other day, but that's on top of five other goals (all but one of them at 5-on-5) and two assists. Basically, if you can acquire someone at the deadline and he scores 9-2—11 in 14 games, you got your money's worth on the trade, full stop.
His nine goals in 14 appearances are now one more than he had with the Kings in 40.
