Around The AHL: Thomas Harley shining in Texas
The Dallas Stars could not have asked for much more than they have gotten from Texas Stars rookie blueliner Thomas Harley this season.
Their 19-year-old top prospect, a 2019 first-round pick, managed to win a silver medal for Canada at the IIHF World Junior Championship this past January, spend a bit of time with Dallas, and then head to their AHL affiliate and put together an excellent rookie season. Harley’s 22 points (five goals, 17 assists) in 36 games with Texas place him second in scoring among AHL blueliners this season.
“He’s a heck of a hockey player,” Texas head coach Neil Graham said of Harley earlier this season.
