Doerrie's Deets: May 21, 2021

The first playoff edition of Doerrie's Deets is upon us and there is a lot to unpack. The first week of the playoffs has been nothing short of fantastic, whether it's overtime games, St. Louis Blues goalie Jordan Binnington trying to pick another fight or Edmonton Oilers forward and potential Hart Trophy winner Connor McDavid being himself.

It seems almost criminal we haven't experienced an all Florida playoffs series until now. The Tampa Bay Lightning may be leading the Florida Panthers in the series, but those games have been full of nastiness, high-end skill and some great saves.

Given the NHL is going back to regular divisions next season, here's hoping we get more iterations of this series for years to come. That's the type of series that creates new hockey fans, especially in a state where there aren't as many.
