Round 2 Takeaways: How the Lightning beat the Hurricanes

As the playoff matchups in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs start to wrap up, we're going to draw takeaways from them by highlighting the key trends that helped push the winning teams over the top. Since styles tend to make fights this time of year, it's useful to identify which teams have specifically been doing well to generate their positive results. 

Rather than just running traditional recaps though, we'll try to spin it forward by pulling some actionable bits of information out that will be relevant for the following round(s) to come as well. 

We've already looked at how the Montreal Canadiens were able to sweep the Winnipeg Jets with such relative ease in round two. Now let's focus on the Tampa Bay Lightning, and how they beat the Carolina Hurricanes to become one of the last four teams standing for a remarkable fifth time in the past seven postseasons.
