There are as many interpretations of the concept of hockey sense as they are prospect evaluators. Even when a team sits down to define the term in order to properly rate and compare players, views never align perfectly, the understanding of each party being shaped by their experiences, influences, and values. 

What also prevents a consensus is that a small part of the hockey sense construct seems to escape definition. It is but a feeling, one tied to the memories of prospects who turned into effective NHLers.
