San Jose Sharks should trade Tomáš Hertl sooner than later

The rumour mill has been churning this week regarding Tomáš Hertl's future in San Jose, and for good reason.

When a player gives an interview in a Czech publication stating flatly, "I wonder if San Jose will want to re-sign me, and if I'll want to stay there… I'll start the season and see how it turns out."

Other key issues include that he told that wants to be somewhere he can win — which pretty much excludes the Sharks — and there have been reports that Hertl is one of the players who is fed up with Evander Kane and how the organization has handled him to this point. Add in the fact that the Sharks clearly want (and need) to rebuild while still remaining nominally competitive, and it's hard to see a situation where Hertl fits.
