Ready or not, the Ottawa Senators rebuild is "done" if they say it is
Timing is everything, but sometimes things just don't align how you'd like them to.
Case in point: Ottawa Senators general manager Pierre Dorion's new extension as the general manager of the Ottawa Senators didn't exactly line up with the definitive end of the Senators' need to completely rebuild their roster. However, specifically because he is being extended, and owner Eugene Melnyk had previously indicated that the team intended to go on a "five-year run of unparalleled success" beginning in 2021, Dorion has to go out there and say things like this:
