EP Rinkside 2021-22 Prospect Pool Rankings: No. 26-ranked St. Louis Blues

The St. Louis Blues are a team in flux.

They're still good enough to vie for a playoff spot on a consistent basis, but their current core is ageing and their pipeline is one of the weaker ones in the league. This is a result of the prolonged competitiveness of the club and their willingness to move out draft picks and young pieces for 'now players'. Additionally, finishing in the payoff zone so often has limited their ability to mine impactful young talent at the NHL Entry Draft.

As a result, this club has just four prospects that check out as likely NHL players as far as our Future Value index is concerned. It's void of any true star talent but does have a player who could thrive in a top-four role - something the top team could very much use.

But hey, they have a Stanley Cup in their back pocket, so it was worth the ride.
