Prospect Pool Rankings

EP Rinkside 2021-22 Prospect Pool Rankings: No. 12-ranked Buffalo Sabres

If this exercise focused on all players under-25 and not just prospects, the Buffalo Sabres would be challenging for the top spot.

They graduated yet another top prospect last in Dylan Cozens, adding to an intriguing young core that features Rasmus DahlinHenri JokiharjuCasey Mittelstadt with (presumably) more on the way when finally pull the trigger on a Jack Eichel trade.

Still, the addition of Owen Power and Isak Rosén are big ones, giving them a boost of two spots despite graduating Cozens and Jacob Bryson.

The Sabres prospect pool has an interesting mix of play styles and archetypes, even if their depth doesn’t compare to many players ranked around them. There’s definitely a theme of retrieval-based creators, but a number of high-pace attackers, too. Some of their top prospects are a combination of both. They also possess a trio of notable goaltending prospects.
