4 observations from the Montréal Canadiens dismal start

Watching the first handful of Montréal Canadiens games this season, a few promising signs stood out to me. The team wasn't winning much, or at all, but these struggles were largely expected given the seismic shake to the foundation of this team's roster in the off-season; it takes time for chemistry to form and new players to step into the spotlight.

But it's been three weeks now, the losses continue to mount, and the Habs have dug themselves into a hole so deep that it's hard to envision them climbing out. It's already looking like a lost season.

Their win last Friday over the San Jose Sharks, a 4-0 road victory, looked like it may have been a turning point though. The offence clicked and the team came together, earning their first victory in the Shark's home building since November 23rd, 1
