Rumors are starting to gain traction around the league that some teams are considering making changes after slow starts to the season.

With the Montreal Canadiens, for example, we are already heading that Ben Chiarot, Brendan Gallagher and Tyler Toffoli could potentially be on their way out. Whether those rumors have any substance to them or are idle conjecture is somewhat beside the point. It’s at least common sense that a team in their position (double-digit points out of a divisional playoff spot just less than a quarter of the way through the season) at least looks at their options.

The reality is that his team would need to get probably something like 80-plus points over the next 62 games, and we can reasonably look at the Canadiens’ situation and say that in all likelihood, they will n
