Are the St. Louis Blues in trouble?

Two things can be true at the same time.

The St. Louis Blues started the season 8-2-1 and everyone said, "Hey, they were a pretty good team last season that improved quite a bit over the summer." Maybe they weren't "play at a 127-point pace" good, but y'know, they felt like they could be formidable in a tough Central Division. Especially because, at the same time, the heavily favoured Colorado Avalanche were off to a slower-than-molasses start.

On the other hand, though, five of those eight wins to start the year came in a five-game winning streak to start the season, and since that streak ended, they're just 6-7-3. Hey, they put the boots to Columbus in their most recent contest, but they haven't won back-to-back games since late October.

The good news is that they still sit in a playoff spo
