Has Sasha Pastujov's dominant OHL start changed our projection of him?
If it wasn't clear last season when he scored 30 goals in 41 games for the USNTDP, it is now: Sasha Pastujov is an exceptional junior scorer. His 18 goals in just as many games rank second in the OHL and third in all the CHL.
It's not like the puck has favored the winger all that much. While he will likely not maintain this almost goal-per-game pace for the entire season, there is no indication that he will significantly slow down either. His shooting percentage (18 percent) is close to the one he had with the USNTDP last year (20 percent) and it's also one we have come to expect from top OHL players.
By the end of the season, if he maintains his shot volume, we could see Pastujov join players like Jack Quinn and Arthur Kaliyev in the league's 50-goal club.
