"It's not a hockey decision": Mark Yannetti sounds off on Brandt Clarke's absence from Team Canada's World Junior camp roster
Sportsnet's Jeff Marek reported earlier today that defenceman Brandt Clarke, the Los Angeles Kings eighth overall pick in last July's draft will not be among those invited to Team Canada's World Juniors camp when they announce their list tomorrow.
This came as a shock to many in the hockey world. Canada is always among the favourites at the World Juniors, including this one, but many felt if they had one weak spot, it was the right side of their blue line. That was with Clarke; without him, it's even more suspect.
Just don't count Kings Director of Amateur Scouting, Mark Yannetti among those stunned by today's news. He had a feeling this could happen.
