Scout's notebook: Projecting Brendan Brisson, Thomas Bordeleau, and Mackie Samoskevich

The Michigan Wolverines boast so many high-calibre NHL prospects on their roster that every viewing in Ann Arbor fills pages of notes. Each game is an adventure, featuring high-level skill plays, intriguing collective tactics, and a flurry of scoring chances.

This is a special edition of the Scout's Notebook dedicated entirely to that powerhouse NCAA team, with a particular focus on three prospects:

Brendan Brisson, the son of CAA superagent Patrice Brisson and the 29th overall pick by the Vegas Golden Knights in 2020, is finding new, deadly ways to release the puck every game this season. He should finish the season as one of the top goal-scorers in college hockey.

Thomas Bordeleau is picking up points at a high clip, but there are some concerns about the translatability of his offence.

Mackie Samoskevich has found a new gear with the Maize and Blue. He is now a true dynamic threat, but he might be playing too fast for his own good.

The ones not featured here will each get their own articles in the next two weeks. You can already read about the development of 2021 first overall pick Owen Power here.
