All roads lead to Edmonton for German defenceman Luca Münzenberger
EDMONTON, Alberta -- The City of Edmonton is fast becoming a place of destiny for German defenceman Luca Münzenberger. He'll always have a fondness for the Alberta capital, and how could he not given all that it's offered him in the last two years?
The obvious starting point for many is the success that Münzenberger enjoyed on the German blue line at the 2021 World Juniors, which was something of a catalyst for his selection in the draft that followed. What they often leave out is that it was the only place he could play competitive hockey for most of the season.
"We got shut down in September, and I didn’t play for two and a half months before the World Juniors," Münzenberger told EP Rinkside over the phone on Tuesday. "Then I had this super exciting event playing for my country in Edmonton
