Film Room: Adam Fantilli could become the NHL's next great power forward
Tune into a Chicago Steel game, and you’re likely to see two things: Adam Fantilli pulling off an incredible feat of puck skill, and Adam Fantilli taking a healthy run at an opposition player.
It’s that increasingly rare, always desirable combination that makes Fantilli stand out in a draft class featuring Connor Bedard, Matvei Michkov, and no fewer than five other high-end prospects.
Fantilli’s equally dynamic and explosive; a fervent puck battler and electrifying goal-scorer. He’s the USHL’s leading goal-scorer as a draft-minus-one player, with his 1.39 points per game outpacing all but Jack Hughes, Auston Matthews, and Jack Eichel for his age group in the past 10 years.
The special parts of Fantilli’s game are numerous, but there’s one that stands out -- his ability to link puck acquisition to scoring.
