Film Room: Investigating Danila Yurov's highly nuanced game
Danila Yurov has long been on draft radars. The 2022 draft-eligible prospect's standout play on the international stage goes all the way back to his explosive play at the 2019 IIFH U17 World Championships where he helped the Russians to a gold medal. His eight points in six games were good for a share of third at the event and led all 2022-eligible skaters, ahead of names such as Shane Wright and Brad Lambert.
The stellar showings with the national team sweater on didn’t stop there. He was incredible at the U18 championships a year later, driving play on a highly talented line to the tune of four goals and 11 points in seven games.
And yet, despite the high-end historical showings, few players in this class have had to navigate such difficult circumstances in 2021-22 as the 6-foot-1 forward.
