Taking Stock: A look at the St. Louis Blues's prospect trade chips for the deadline

The St.Louis Blues are poised to make another run at a Stanley Cup in 2022.

Though this year's iteration of the Blues looks a fair bit different from the one that won it all back in 2019, many of the core pieces that led the way to the organization's first Stanley Cup remain in place. The emergence of Jordan Kyrou and Robert Thomas along with the acquisition of Pavel Buchnevich have only made this group more dynamic offensively in the time since, too.

To beat some of the best league's best teams in the postseason, though, the Blues will need some help, especially on defence.

An extra top-four defenceman would solidify the team's blue line and push some of their more inexperienced contributors further down the lineup into more suitable roles. That type of blueliner doesn't come cheap, though.
