Prospect Roundup: Scouting reports on the prospects dealt at the trade deadline

Prospects and picks are the currency of the NHL trade deadline, and more than their fair share of the former before the clock struck 3 PM Eastern yesterday. They are the necessary sacrifice for contending teams looking to make a run at the Stanley Cup.

Some of them moved for cap or contract considerations, but others, like defenceman Justin Barron, were more reluctantly dealt by contending teams.

The good news for those prospects is that they now find themselves in a new organization that doesn't possess the same depth, making their path to the NHL far less obstructed.
