Who will win the Mike Richter award, and who should?

For the last several days, I’ve felt like I was in one of those “Twilight Zone” episodes where everything is acting like it’s totally normal that all humans have been replaced by giant spiders or something, and I’m going, “Why is that spider so big, and why is he driving to work?”

Speaking to a number of voters for both true Mike Richter and Hobey Baker awards, I am not alone in this feeling.

I first started getting that itchy feeling in the back of my head that something perhaps wasn’t quite right when the Richter finalists were announced: Northeastern’s Devon Levi, Minnesota State’s Dryden McKay and Quinnipiac’s Yaniv Perets.

Full disclosure: I am a Richter voter and I have been for several years. I've also been one of a few dozen keeping tabs on the goalies basically all season. My No. 1 choice has won the award every single year, and it's rare to see a difference between my top three choices and the actual finalists.
