Fantasy Focus: Mining the waiver wire on April 11

It’s getting down to nitty-gritty time in the fantasy hockey season. For those of you in two-week matchups, you should be stepping into the final match. This could be a half-month stretch on the path to glory, battling for a third-place, the money-back prize, or simply attempting to stay out of the Sacko position. Whatever is on the line, you’ll want to maximize your chances for success by working that waiver wire and attempting to unearth a few quick points.

By this point in the season, we have a very clear idea of who is doing what and who is playing where but there are always surprises and guys suddenly seeing improved deployment opportunities. The key is to predict who and when to nab to catch lightning in a bottle.

As we do every week, I'll explore some candidates that are rostered in less than half of Fantrax leagues at the time of writing. This week, there are a host of squads with four games on the schedule. A few of them have easier opponents, a few others are transitioning in new talent post-deadline. Playing spoiler, battling for playoff positions, or tanking to the basement. There are moving parts all over town -- which makes it all the more fun.
