EP Rinkside 3 stars for Week 28 of the NHL season

Hey, it’s the end of the 28th week of the NHL regular season. And I gotta be honest with you: I cannot be asked to care about the Eastern Conference at this point.

I guess the matchups in the Metropolitan Division could shift a bit, but I’m not seeing a huge difference in quality between most of these teams, especially now that the Washington Capitals are ridiculously hot and both the Pittsburgh Penguins and Carolina Hurricanes are dealing with critical injuries in goal.

The only other area of interest, until last night, was whether the Boston Bruins could squeeze past the Tampa Bay Lightning in the division. But those two games went 12-1 on aggregate for Tampa, so that feels very much like that.

But the West? Ah, the West.
