Penguins win again vs Rangers

The Pittsburgh Penguins hold the upper hand against the New York Rangers in the NHL Åttondelsfinal, after winning 7-2 (1-1, 5-1, 1-0) at home. Pittsburgh leads the series 3-1, and only needs one more win to make it to the kvartsfinal.

The visiting Rangers started off strong and took the lead right after the puck drop with Alexis Lafreniere scoring early into the first period, assisted by Braden Schneider.

The Penguins tied it halfway through the first period, after a Sidney Crosby goal assisted by Jake Guentzel and Kris Letang.

The Penguins went up 2-1 after early in the second period when Michael Matheson found his mark, assisted by Sidney Crosby.

Jake Guentzel then tallied a goal early into the second period, cutting the deficit to 3-1. Bryan Rust and Sidney Crosby assisted.

Mark Friedman scored halfway through the second period, assisted by Teodors Blugers and Brian Boyle, to give the Penguins the lead.

Rangers' in the second, Adam Fox scored a goal late in the second period, assisted by Artemi Panarin and Mika Zibanejad, increasing the lead to 4-2 for the Rangers.

Danton Heinen scored with a minute left into the second period, assisted by Kris Letang, to give the Penguins the lead.

The Penguins continued to be dominant in the third period and won 7-2 in the end. The goals in the final period were scored by Jeff Carter and Yevgeni Malkin.

Pittsburgh improves to 3–0–0, while New York drops to 1–0–0.

The teams will soon play again for Game 5 on Wednesday, May 11 at 7 p.m.
