Panthers win again vs Capitals
The Florida Panthers hold the upper hand against the Washington Capitals in the NHL Åttondelsfinal, after winning 5-3 (0-1, 3-2, 2-0) at home. Florida leads the series 3-2, and only needs one more win to make it to the kvartsfinal.
The Capitals took the lead, with a goal scored by T. J. Oshie. John Carlson and Evgeny Kuznetsov assisted.
The Washington Capitals quickly scored two more goals in the second period to take a commanding lead.
The Panthers narrowed and then closed the gap at 3-3 in the second period.
The Panthers were strong in the third, with goals from Carter Verhaeghe (2) and Claude Giroux.
Florida improves to 3–0–0, while Washington drops to 2–0–0.
The teams play again for Game 6 on Friday, May 13 at 7:30 p.m.
