Panthers secure victory over Capitals after overtime thriller

The 4-3 (0-0, 1-1, 2-2, 1-0) win on road in a game that went to overtime, sealed the victory for the Florida Panthers in the series against the Washington Capitals in the NHL Åttondelsfinal. Florida won in 4-2 games.

The game-winning goal was scored by Florida's Carter Verhaeghe.

In the third, Claude Giroux scored in the ninth minute of the period, assisted by Ekblad Aaron and Carter Verhaeghe, to tie the game.

In the third, Barkov Aleksander scored a goal 15 minutes into the period, assisted by Claude Giroux and MacKenzie Weegar, giving the Panthers 3-2 a lead.

In the third period, T. J. Oshie scored a goal with just one minute left, assisted by Anthony Mantha and Evgeny Kuznetsov, to tie the game. With this goal, the score was tied and then, the game went to overtime.

Washington is now 2–0–0, while Florida improves to 4–0–0.
