Blues win and close in on Avalanche in series

The St. Louis Blues came away with a win against the Colorado Avalanche. The final score was 5-4 (0-2, 1-1, 3-1, 1-0) after an overtime drama. St. Louis has reduced the gap in the series in the Stanley Cup-kvartsfinal that now stands at 3-2 in favour of Colorado.

The game-winning goal was scored by St. Louis' Tyler Bozak.

The Avalanche got off to a good start with a 2-0 lead with goals from Nathan MacKinnon (2).

Gabriel Landeskog scored early in the second period, assisted by Devon Toews and Nathan MacKinnon, to give the Avalanche the lead.

Blues' Vladimir Tarasenko tallied a goal late, cutting the deficit to 3-1. Nick Leddy and Brayden Schenn assisted.

The Blues narrowed the gap again in the middle of the third period when Robert Thomas scored found the back of the net, assisted by Pavel Buchnevich and Nick Leddy.

In the third period, Justin Faulk then scored with 4 minutes remaining assisted by Alexey Toropchenko and Nick Leddy, to tie the game.

In the third, Nathan MacKinnon then scored his third goal with 2 minutes remaining assisted by Bowen Byram, giving the Avalanche 4-3 a lead. With this goal, the score was tied and then, the game went to overtime.

Colorado drops to 3–0–0, while St. Louis improves to 2–0–0.

The teams play again for Game 6 on Friday, May 27 at 8 p.m.
