Rangers tie series with win over Hurricanes

The New York Rangers won 5-2 (2-0, 2-2, 1-0) at home against the Carolina Hurricanes in the Stanley Cup-kvartsfinal. The series is now tied at 3-3 and the next game will be the decider.

The Rangers started off well with a 2-0 lead in the middle of the first period with two quick goals from Tyler Motte and Mika Zibanejad.

Filip Chytil scored early in the second period, assisted by Adam Fox, to give the Rangers the lead.

Hurricanes' Brady Skjei tallied a goal early, cutting the deficit to 3-1. Sebastian Aho and Seth Jarvis assisted.

Hurricanes' Vincent Trocheck scored a goal late in the second, assisted by Martin Necas and Brady Skjei, increasing the lead to 4-2 for the Hurricanes.

In the third, Artemi Panarin then scored midway through the third period, assisted by Chris Kreider and Ryan Strome, for a final score of 5-2.

New York improves to 3–0–0, while Carolina drops to 3–0–0.

The teams play again for Game 7 on Monday, May 30 at 8 p.m.
