When was the last time two Conference Finals had such easy hooks at the same time? “Best player in the world versus the best team in the league.” Easy sell, must-see TV. “The two best goalies alive are going head-to-head.” Where do I sign up?

If I in any way believed the NHL was competent enough to engineer these teams’ paths to the finals, I’d be breaking out the corkboard and red string. But instead, we’ve had two insanely fun games in the Western Conference Final and one in the Eastern Conference Final that… well, let’s say defied expectations.

Can’t say we’re not getting our money’s worth so far. Long may it continue.
