Rangers up 2-0 after another win over Lightning

The New York Rangers have the upper hand in the series against the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Stanley Cup semifinal, after winning 3-2 (2-1, 0-0, 1-1) at home. New York leads the series by 2-0 games.

The Lightning opened strong, early in the game with Nikita Kucherov scoring early in the first period, assisted by Victor Hedman and Anthony Cirelli.

The Rangers tied it up early into the first period, after a K'Andre Miller's goal assisted by Frank Vatrano and Chris Kreider.

The Rangers scored again late into the first period, after a Kaapo Kakko's goal assisted by Adam Fox and Filip Chytil.

In the third period, Mika Zibanejad then scored two minutes into the third period, assisted by Chris Kreider and Adam Fox, increasing the lead for the Rangers.

In the third, Nicholas Paul then scored with 2 minutes remaining assisted by Corey Perry and Nikita Kucherov, for a final score of 3-2.

New York improves to 2–0–0, while Tampa Bay drops to 0–0–0.

The teams play each other again for Game 3 on Sunday, June 5 at 3 p.m.
