Film Room: Marco Kasper is a menace
In the last 20 years, just 20 under-18 forwards have suited up for 30 or more SHL regular-season contests. Half of those players were able to hit double-digit point totals. Only five of them were able to produce more than Rögle forward Marco Kasper.
The Austrian forward led all forwards 19 and under in shots and points and shared the goal-scoring lead with fellow 2022-eligible, Jonathan Lekkerimäki. He did so while playing perhaps the most mature, translatable style of any draft-eligible skater in any league this season. His tenacious pursuit of pucks, his formidable physicality, and exemplary play from the hash marks down earned him instant trust from the Rogle coaching staff. It permeated into the Champions Hockey League games and the IIHF World Junior Championships, culminating in a standout showing for the Austrians at the World Championships.
